Sky correspondent Peppe Di Stefano believes that the Curva Sud could stage a protest of sorts during Sunday’s game against Genoa at San Siro.

To describe the past few days surrounding AC Milan as chaotic would be an understatement, and it all started with the news that Julen Lopetegui was set to be appointed as the new head coach, taking Stefano Pioli’s place ahead of 2024-25.

That was met by a ‘#NOPEtegui’ campaign on social media, with a petition amassing thousands of signatures from like-minded supporters who believe so strongly that he is not the correct profile for Milan.

The Curva Sud did not make the short trip to Turin for the Juventus game on Saturday because of a ticket price protest, and they decided to make their feelings known in light of the situation that surrounds the club more generally with a statement that was packed full of punches.

Now, it seems that the management have performed a U-turn and are now not looking to hire Lopetegui, but that does not mean that the fans are finished showing their anger.

According to Peppe Di Stefano, the Ultras could even stage a protest in the next Serie A match against Genoa on Sunday.

“Ultras could remain silent or even protest because they want clarity on Milan’s future,” the journalist said (via Football Italia).
