Seattle Mariners' Pitcher Rocks Incredible Halloween Costume as Holiday Approaches
USA TODAY Sports

Yes, the Seattle Mariners wish they were still playing in the MLB playoffs. But if you're not going to be playing still, you might as well have a blast at a Halloween party.

That was the case apparently this weekend for M's right-hander Logan Gilbert, who went viral through Mariners' "X" for his incredible costume.

You can see below:

That's Gilbert going as "Shaggy" from Scooby-Doo! Bonus points for the tandem costume with a perfect rendition of "Daphne."

Gilbert had a very productive season this year for the M's, who missed the playoffs by just one game and were eliminated on the second-to-last day of the season. He made 32 starts this season, throwing 190.2 innings and pitching to a 3.73 ERA. He went 13-7 and paired with Luis Castillo and George Kirby to make one of the best trios in any starting rotation.

That rotation should be even better next year in theory when the team gets back Marco Gonzales from injury. They'll also have a full year out of Bryce Miller and Bryan Woo. Robbie Ray should be back from Tommy John surgery around the All-Star break.

Gilbert made his debut in 2021 and was an integral part of the M's playoff run in 2022 that saw them get to the ALDS. He's 32-18 lifetime with a 3.76 ERA. He's under contract through the 2027 season.

If the M's are going to make sure they are playing baseball at this time next season, they'll need to get aggressive this offseason, particularly on the offensive side of things.
