Mantiply to IL, Misiewicz Recalled From Triple-A Reno
USA TODAY Sports

The Diamondbacks have made a roster move ahead of tonight's game against the San Francisco Giants. The team has announced they've placed left-handed reliever Joe Mantiply on the 15-day injured list with a strained right hamstring, retroactive to May 9th, and recalled left-handed reliever Anthony Misiewicz from Triple-A Reno.

This is the second time that Mantiply has gone on the IL this season, after missing the first 17 games with left shoulder fatigue. In eight games, he pitched to a 2.35 ERA and an 8/0 strikeout to walk ratio in 7.2 innings. His last appearance came on May 8th, getting an out and allowing an inherited runner to score. Theo Mackie from the Arizona Republic is reporting that Mantiply tweaked his hamstring while warming up during last night's game and he'll be out three to four weeks if things go well in his recovery.

Misiewicz, 28, was originally acquired by the D-backs on March 31st in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals. In four games this season he's pitched to a 3.86 ERA in 4.2 innings. His last appearance was on April 29th before getting optioned to Reno the next day. Since he is replacing an injured player, Misiewicz was not required to spend 15 days in Triple-A.
