The NBA Draft on Thursday night ended up being a family reunion for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Cleveland used the 49th pick in the draft to select Isaiah Mobley of USC.

This choice wouldn’t usually raise a lot of eyebrows but it ended up being very special because Isaiah’s brother, Evan, plays for the Cavs already and is one of their best performers.

Now that both of the Mobley brothers play together on the same team, they join a short list of NBA stars who are playing with their siblings.

Currently, Giannis and Thanasis Antetokounmpo play on the Milwaukee Bucks together while Mo and Franz Wagner are teammates on the Orlando Magic.

Ironically, in each of these cases, the younger brother was drafted into the league before the older one.

Is the future looking bright for the Mobley brothers?

Brotherly Love

Isaiah Mobley was known for his offensive skills while playing for just one season with the Trojans.

As for Evan, he’s quickly become a fan favorite and a vital part of the Cavs since joining the team last season.

He averaged 15 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.5 assists a game and ended up being a runner-up for Rookie of the Year.

The Cavaliers just had a very promising season because of their core of young players like Mobley, but they still fell just short of making it into the playoffs.

However, there is no doubt that this is a team to watch because big things could be coming from it very soon.

And now that both Mobley brothers are playing together, the team has a chance to be even better.

The Cavaliers rebuild continues – and now it’s a family affair!
