It's at that point in the season where every team is dealing with injuries and it's no different this year for both Georgia and Alabama heading into the SEC Championship game. The Bulldogs had several key starters miss the Georgia Tech game a week ago due to injury, and their status for the championship game was up in the air heading into the game. That being said, offensive lineman Tate Ratledge is dressed out and is expected to play today against Alabama.
Head coach Kirby Smart provided an injury update earlier in the week. Smart gave updates on Brock Bowers, Ladd McConkey, Tate Ratledge and Rara Thomas and provided updates on what their availability would be for Saturday's game.
"I don't have a lot more answers now than I had on Monday. They have not been able to do a lot. Each one has kind of worked kind of independently."
-Kirby Smart on the four injured Bulldogs
Smart did note that both Ratledge and Bowers had participated in some 11-on-11 drill work this week but was still uncertain as to what their availability would be for Saturday's game against the Crimson Tide.
Ratledge had not missed a game all season until last week against Georgia Tech. He is a veteran presence upfront for the Bulldogs and having him available for today's game is big news for the Bulldogs as they face a very good Alabama defense.
