    The cards made a late run...and i have to agree that for 3/4 of the game the steelers dominated them. Congrats to Pitt though...Roethlisberger to Holmes might be a common occurrence for a while.

      I have to agree with bowlbound that the Cards would have been leading at halftime and the second half was mostly Cards. The Harrison halftime play gives the Steelers 7 points and takes at least 3 points from the Cardinals- thats a 10pt swing and the Cards lost by 4. So if not for that play the Cards would have won by 3 or 6.
      Holmes was amazing, Harrison was great, Ben Roethlisberger was impressive. Larry Fitzgerald might be better than Jerry Rice(did you see his breakaway speed on that long TD?) Warner did not play his best but I think the playcalling for the Cards was suspect all day.
      
      Altogether it was another great SB, reminds me of why I love the game so much. These were definitely the best 2 teams in the NFL and we see they were closely matched as well.

    You got that right, BB.... These clowns in the yard who are saying the Cards stink, sure weren't watching the game I was. That team was well prepared and one play was the difference. If Az. scores on the play Harrison intercepted the Cards win.Great game, I really enjoyed it.

I must be blind, but how come Holmes wasnt flagged for the TD celebration. Im used to seeing Steve Smith, OchoCinco and TO get flagged for their antics. Other than that Kudos Santonio. As a former WR, I love WR doing their thang. (PS: I wanted Kurt Sojourner Truth and the Cardinals to win hahah)

I will say that fumble at the end looked like an incomplete pass to me, although it was close. Harrison's elbow looked to hit the ground at the 1yd line before the half and overall I think the referees favored the Steelers all day.

    They clearly showed holding in the replay, why wouldn't they call that? it's their job to call holding especially when the holding is pertinent to the play at hand. If it weren't for the holding Roethlisberger would have certainly been sacked and the safety would be twice as legit.

      Oh, I'm not making excuses for anyone. I don't know that guy nor do I work for him, nor do I care what you have to say about him. But you called him "classless" for one action in an entire season. And even if you weren't talking about the whole season, you called him classless for an action in 1 out of the 60 plays he played. Sure, he wasn't getting hurt, held, hugged, or anything else on THAT play, but if you read you will see that I said he had been getting held and chopped all day. Frustration has a way of building up and erupting at the wrong time, or are you so perfect that you don't know that either?
      
      Look...everyone has something that they have done that they are ashamed of. Something that they wish they could do over. Some words they wish they could pull back in. And bottom line is, you don't know whether he apologized or not. For all you know, he may have found him after the game and personally apologized (aka quick acknowledgement of his offense). Not to get too deep but let he who is without sin cast the first stone. I don't know you, but I'd bet that according to that saying, you are someone that shouldn't be casting stones.

As a fan, a father, and a youth sports coach, it bothers me to see a "professional" do something like that...and make no mistake, athletes are judged by what they do on the field just the same as off it....like Albert Haynesworth and Marcus Vick...they might be stand up guys now, but they pulled some classless crap on the field and people remember that. Even if my players or children are getting a raw deal, I want them to respond with class and respect so that they might never be thought of as someone who seeks vengeance on the field. Prior to this game I never thought ill of Harrison, but I won't look at him the same again. Not everyone or anyone need to agree with me, but that is the way I was raised.

AMAZING catch...Holmes proves to Roethliesberger that he doesn't need BIG receivers...just good ones. Hopefully Arizona and Pittsburgh showed Philly that we need more playmakers. Playmakers win the big games because they make the plays that the "real good" players don't. Philly has a lot of "real good" players on both sides of the ball. We need some more playmakers.

  I agree man. Its great the amount of talent that Philly has, but we need more playmakers. More people that the opposition has to scheme to stop, on both sides of the ball. I don't think people realize the difference that one dominant player can have on every game, whether he actually contributes or not, he affects it in a way that the average to very good player can not.
  
  My friend (a Dallas fan who said during the playoffs he was going to be a Cardinals fan now) called me after Fitzgerald's second TD catch. He said..."It's over man!" I told him then, "You do know who Pitt has at QB, right?" Big (Game) Ben is as clutch a QB as I have seen in my lifetime. He may not be the best QB in the NFL, but there is not 1 that I would rather have with the game on the line. He called me back after they got to the 6 and he was shocked...he now knows about Big Ben.

santonio deserves the playoffs/superbowl mvp...he made some AMAZING plays helping get the team to the Superbowl! He is an awesome player and I'm so glad he is a Steeler!!! However, although I feel he deserved the MVP...Big Ben needs some recognition because he really stepped up at the last minute to connect with Holmes and get that touchdown! Great job #10 and #7!!!!!! AND #92!!!! Harrison needs some big time recognition too!

the officiating was horrible. i could care a less about the cardinals but i hate to see when the refs determine the outcome of a game. that is exactly what happened last night. and james harrison should be banned from the NFL. but that is typical steeler football. the game was fixed. after yesterdays game i have become a steeler hater. a very low-class organization at best

holmes should be thanking every deity he possibly can after letting the play before go right through his fingertips, *and* causing the team to use a timeout by not getting back to the line in time because he just had to celebrate the fact he got a first down. it's a first down! who gives a sht?? if it wasn't for that catch, it could have turned out very very different for him...

its funny too see all our eagles fans come on here chirping the cards.. in all reality, noone cares about the rest of the teams in the league on superbowl weekend. i was down there this weekend and all you see is superbowl XLIII or steelers or cards merchandise. the cards do deserve to be there. its the nfl, believe in now and you'll get what the cards got. theyve made the playoffs once in so many years and have one nfc championship, what do us eagles have,,, one nfc championship. anyways... great performance santonio, gonna have a great career.

I am so happy he caught that ball. That was a beautiful throw by Big Ben and a phenomenoal catch by Santonio Holmes. Not once was I nervous because I knew they could do it.

I agree that the refs made lot of bad calls, but they were both ways, Big Ben never touched the ground with his knee in that runing TD and they take it away, Fitzgerald in his first TD, never had control of the ball and it tipped the ground, in here you have 11 points going in Cards favor. And please Warner had 2 fumbles, in both reviews you can watch that the ball were striped of his hand prior to a forward move, that by the way those moves were in the pocket and were just to avoid a sack, those were never intended to any receiver, Want more?

  Just because you say it, does not make it so. The replay showed Ben's knee on the ground on the rushing TD. I watched all the replays of Fitz's 1st TD and never saw the tip hit the ground, although he did catch it with one hand and the back of his other hand and his facemask. There is a very clear video of the latter Warner "fumble" that essentially ended the game and from many opinions he was throwing a pass and his arm was grabbed/hit as he threw the ball.
  There was also the matter of a certain personal foul called against Arizona where they got to the QB late- but as John Madden said, how can you pull up as Ben throws the ball knowing that he likes to spin and run and pump fake and knowing that if you do get to him you must hit him hard and tackle well. As well the running into the holder was one that didn't need called as the Arizona defender tripped as he was trying to hold up from hitting him, I am a fan of neither team but in my opinion the calls went in favor of the Steelers all day.
